September 2, 2008: "Madonna Arrives One Hour Late At The Premiere Of Husband Guy Ritchie's Film "RocknRolla""

Madonna arrived at husband Guy Ritchie's world premiere an hour late.

The "Give It 2 Me" singer kept the director waiting up at the London launch of "RocknRolla" Monday night before a black car dropped her off at the event just minutes before the film was due to start.

Guy met the singer from the vehicle before the couple walked down the red carpet hand-in-hand.

The director insisted he wasn't surprised by his spouse's poor punctuality.

He said: "She told me she was half an hour away. She better had be otherwise I am going to be really embarrassed."

"Whatever happens she'll be late. Take her time and double it."

The 39-year-old also revealed how difficult it is for him to maintain his relationship with the 50-year-old singer.

He added: "It's hard because there is a big ocean in the way sometimes, but we try to do our best."

The couple recently dismissed rumors they are planning a divorce, but neither star was wearing their wedding ring last night.

September 1, 2008: "Madonna's Tour Crew Threatens Walkout After Being Treated Like Second Class Citizens"

Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet" touring crew are threatening to quit. Some of the 250 staff on the tour claim they are being treated like "second class citizens" after being given cheap hotel accommodation - while Madonna stayed in an $22,000-a-night castle after her recent show in Nice, France.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Everyone is absolutely furious with her and some of them want to walk out of the tour. They feel they are being treated like second-class citizens, despite all their hard work over the last few months."

"To make matters worse, they are being forced to stay in horrible places and fly on cheap low-cost flights, while she has the lap of luxury. Several are already talking about walking if things don't improve."

In contrast to her staff, Madonna, 50, flew with her family - husband Guy Ritchie, 39, daughter Lourdes, 11, and sons Rocco, eight and David, two - by private jet to the 11th century Chateau Saint Jeannet.

Madonna made a series of demands for the Nice show last Tuesday, including a helicopter to take her from the stage back to the castle.

The "Give it to Me" singer also kept a team of 12 staff on hand including six beauticians, her own chef and chiropractor.

After the show, Sir Elton John and his 'husband' David Furnish were invited back to the chateau.

Meanwhile, Madonna stunned staff at Schoenefeld airport in Germany - after the Berlin show in the tour - by going through security checks wearing a fluffy white bathrobe and black trainers last Thursday.

The "Sticky and Sweet" tour continues, with stops in Amsterdam Tuesday and Dusseldorf on Thursday.

August 27, 2008: "Madonna Wants To Stop Organizers Of New Exhibit From Displaying Her Explicit Love Letters From The Past"

Madonna is furious that her explicit love letters may be made public.

The "Give It 2 Me" singer has reportedly instructed her lawyers to stop the organizers of new exhibition "Simply Madonna: Materials of the Girl" from displaying the racy notes.

Madonna sent the 17 letters to her then-boyfriend James Albright in the 90s and signed some of them Spanky, said to be a reference to her fondness of being spanked during sex, while others include a lipstick kiss.

A source said: "Who would want private sentiments to someone they loved revealed? Lawyers sent a warning. She hopes it will work."

The show will open in East London next February, and will include some of the most iconic stage outfits she has worn during her 25-year career.

Among the 300 items going on show are the pink dress the singer wore in the "Material Girl" video, and the evening dress from the 1996 film "Evita."

A black bustier she modeled in her "Open Your Heart" video and the wedding dress she wore during her "Like a Virgin" tour will also be displayed.

Exhibition Curator Ted Owen: "This is an unprecedented collection of Madonna memorabilia, that represents every stage of her glittering career."

"These are museum-quality pieces - but they will be presented in keeping with the glamor and sense of theater that the queen of pop has made her trademark - and Madonna fans should be very excited indeed."

Madonna kicked off her 50-date "Sticky and Sweet" world tour in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday.

August 26, 2008: "Madonna's McCain-Mugabe-Hitler Comparison Outrages McCain Campaign"

Madonna has come under fire for comparing U.S. Presidential candidate John McCain to Adolf Hitler.

An image of McCain flashed on screen alongside images of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe at the first night of her "Sticky and Sweet" world tour in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Wales, on Saturday.

The images were shown as Madonna performed her song "Get Stupid."

Tucker Bounds, an outraged spokesperson for McCain's campaign, used the opportunity to take a swipe at McCain's Presidential rival Barack Obama.

He said: "The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time.

"It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

While McCain - the Republican party candidate for the November US election - was shown opposite despots, his rival, Democratic candidate Barack Obama was juxtaposed with pictures of peace activist Mahatma Ghandi and late Beatles singer John Lennon in the same song.

Meanwhile, Madonna has reportedly been forced out of her own gym by noisy construction workers.

The 50-year-old singer spent $24 million converting the Georgian house next door to her London home into a state-of- the-art workout room.

But after several months of noisy drilling, leering and suggestive whistling from nearby workers, she has switched to another gym.

A friend close to the star said: "Madonna felt as if she has been living in a siege situation. The noise of the drilling meant she was forced to listen to her iPod at full volume, potentially damaging her ears."

August 22, 2008: "Madonna Buys 100 Pairs Of Fishnet Stockings For Her Upcoming World Tour"

Madonna has bought 100 pairs of fishnet stockings for her upcoming tour.

The "Give It 2 Me" singer got staff to trawl internet auction site eBay and dance shops for the garments to make sure she has the perfect leg-wear.

She has also requested 100 pairs of knee pads, 12 trampolines and four large freezers of ice cubes to sooth aching muscles for her "Sticky and Sweet" world tour.

Twelve seamstresses are working to make her costume changes run smoothly during the show.

On top of her extravagant wardrobe, Madonna will also be sporting $1 million worth of Swarovski crystals.

The diva's 250-strong entourage also includes a chiropractor, a personal trainer and a masseuse, and her dancers have put in an unbelievable 653 hours of rehearsals for the show.

The 45-date tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, Saturday.

Last week, the star's film director husband Guy Ritchie threw a lavish $200,000 party for 90 guests to celebrate his wife reaching the landmark age.

August 15, 2008: "Madonna Turns 50 On Saturday As Most Successful Female Solo Artist"

Madonna, the reigning queen of pop, will celebrate her 50th birthday on Saturday. Her early years had her wearing cone corsets, publishing her sex book and kissing Britney Spears, and in recent years she has matured by becoming a children's book author and spends her time raising awareness about the devastating effects of HIV in Malawi.

All in all, Madonna hasn't only endured, she has succeeded more than any other female solo artist. According to Guinness World Records, she is the most successful female solo artist, selling around 120 million albums and 40 million singles - a combined total more than any other female.

Madonna's rep wouldn't say how the singer will celebrate her 50th birthday, she would only confirm that Madonna is currently in the U.K.

August 15, 2008: "50-Year-Old Madonna Claims Her Spiritual Age Is 36"

Madonna claims her spiritual age is 36.

The "Give It 2 Me" singer has been told by Kabbalah priests she is 14 years younger than her true birth age.

The star has since banned guests attending her celebrations from referring to her being 50, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

She has also issued instructions informing her guests not to bring any cards, cakes or presents which state her true age.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Justin Timberlake - who teamed up with Madonna on the smash hit track "4 Minutes" earlier this year - was unsure what to buy the queen of pop for her special day, and so has settled for golfing vouchers.

Earlier this week, it was reported Madonna was considering delaying her birthday celebrations after twisting her ankle.

The singer was set to throw a lavish party at her country estate in Wiltshire, England, but suffered the injury while rehearsing for her upcoming world tour.

A source said: "Plans are very hush-hush but Madonna is definitely going to celebrate in style."

"Unfortunately, not everything has gone as expected as she's had many other things on her mind. On top of all the stress, she twisted her ankle over the weekend."

"She views this as a sign she should postpone the birthday bash and play it by ear instead."

August 15, 2008: "Madonna's adoption confirmed"

Madonna is set to adopt again, it has been confirmed.

The singer has renewed her bid to care for three-year-old Mercy James now that her marriage to Guy Ritchie is stronger and Malawian officials say she is "on the cusp" of completing the process.
Penstone Klembe, Malawi adoption minister, told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna's representatives have been visiting the girl. The adoption is now advanced ? all the government is waiting for is Madonna to forward the petition of adoption formalities.

"Then Mercy will be able to leave the country for a new life."

According to friends, Madonna, 49, and Guy, 39 - who began the process to adopt David Banda from Malawi in 2006 before it finalised earlier this year - renewed their bid to adopt the toddler after working to save their marriage following rumours the singer was having an affair with sportsman Alex Rodriguez.

One friend said: "The adoption process in Malawi is so long and stressful that all the legal wrangling put a huge strain on their marriage.

"They dropped proceedings to pour all their energies into each other. But Madonna now feels they are stable enough to press ahead with the adoption again."

August 13, 2008: "Madonna Renews Adoption Attempt For 3-Year-Old Malawian Girl"

Madonna is set to adopt again, it has been confirmed.

The singer has renewed her bid to care for three-year-old Mercy James now that her marriage to Guy Ritchie is stronger and Malawian officials say she is "on the cusp" of completing the process.

Penstone Klembe, Malawi adoption minister, told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna's representatives have been visiting the girl. The adoption is now advanced - all the government is waiting for is Madonna to forward the petition of adoption formalities."

"Then Mercy will be able to leave the country for a new life."

According to friends, Madonna, 49, and Guy, 39 - who began the process to adopt David Banda from Malawi in 2006 before it finalized earlier this year - renewed their bid to adopt the toddler after working to save their marriage following rumors the singer was having an affair with sportsman Alex Rodriguez.

One friend said: "The adoption process in Malawi is so long and stressful that all the legal wrangling put a huge strain on their marriage."

"They dropped proceedings to pour all their energies into each other. But Madonna now feels they are stable enough to press ahead with the adoption again."

However, Mercy's family are said to oppose the adoption. Her grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, 60, says she is "firmly against" Mercy being adopted outside of her home country.

She said: "We know that it is Mercy who Madonna really wants. We heard it is because my granddaughter is such a beautiful, happy child."

"Twice I have told the adoption people that I do not want Mercy to go outside the country."

"But they keep on at us. Now they say that Mercy will be leaving us, but can return at age 18. Yet I might not be alive then."

The couple's original bid last year was dropped after the girl's uncle, John Nglanade blocked the application.

August 12, 2008: "Madonna Desperate To Adopt Another Malawian Child"

Madonna is desperate to adopt a second child from Malawi.

The "Give It 2 Me" singer wants to give a home to two-year-old girl Mercy James but the child's family have said they are "not interested" in the proposition.

Madonna, 49, tried to push the adoption through last year, but Mercy's uncle John Nglande blocked it.

The star reportedly renewed attempts to adopt the toddler in May by sending aides to speak to her family, but they are only prepared to go ahead with the plan if Mercy is returned to them when she is six years old.

Mercy's grandmother Anaphiri is quoted by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "When Mercy is no longer a baby we want her back. I do not want the money they said they'd give me."

Madonna's adoption of two-year old Malawian David Banda was finalized earlier this year.

It was claimed the singer had received special treatment as laws which ban non-residents from adopting children in the country were ignored.

She was widely criticized when it was discovered that while David's mother had died, his father was still alive and had been visiting him in his orphanage.

It was confirmed Monday that Asienti Mwale, the women who raised David in Malawi, died on Sunday night of pneumonia.

August 6, 2008: "Madonna Is "Specific" Says Timberlake"

Justin Timberlake says Madonna is a very "specific" person to work with.

Justin admits it took time for the musical pair to see eye to eye during their recording sessions.

The 27-year-old singer said: "Madonna is definitely specific about what she wants and I can't knock her for that. I respond to that because I'm that way, too. But I also think that it took us just a second to mesh our style, that's all.

"We're both strong personalities, some of us stronger than others and I didn't know it at the time. But I actually enjoyed the process of working with her."

July 29, 2008: "Madonna's Estranged Brother Claims Her Daughter Lourdes Will "Rebel""

Christopher Ciccone, who has written a tell-all book entitled Life With My Sister Madonna, is not in contact with his sister's children but is expecting Lourdes to get in touch when she is older.

He said: "I haven't seen them in quite some time. I have met Lourdes and Rocco, of course. I think when Lourdes is ready to rebel, she may call me."

Christopher, 47, does not believe his sister is set to divorce her film-director husband Guy Ritchie and claims the star will do whatever it takes to keep her family together.

He added to Britain's New! magazine: "I don't believe that they are in the process of getting divorced. They have a family and I believe they loved each other when they got married. I think they will do what they have to do to keep their marriage going."

July 22, 2008: "Madonna's Health In Question Due To Her Turbulent Private Life"

Madonna has sparked fears her turbulent personal life is taking its toll on her health.

The '4 Minutes' singer has reportedly fired two dancers, while her tour manager is allegedly threatening to quit due to her "spectacular mood" swings.

Madonna has been rocked by claims her marriage to Guy Ritchie is on the rocks and by allegations she is having an affair with baseball star Alex Rodriguez. Her brother Christopher released a tell-all book about her last week, which is said to have devastated her.

A source close to the singer revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna is doing less than OK. She has been rehearsing for the tour and she is totally miserable."

"She's down physically and mentally. The situation with Guy is very, very tense. The way everyone is going crazy with the A-Rod story, her brother's book and her physical exhaustion are all taking their toll."

"She feels nobody has taken her side. One of her closest pals says she has never seen Madonna so low. She has been feeling down and looking really gaunt."

As Madonna struggles to cope with the stress, she has been diagnosed as anemic and the usually super-fit star has suffered a knee injury.

Following her knee injury, doctors have ordered the 49-year-old to take a break and she is reportedly staying with close friend Gwyneth Paltrow at the Hamptons resort in New York.

Medics have advised she lessens the strain of her dance routines when she does return to rehearsals.

The source added: "Madonna was told to go soft on work and rehearsals, so she will now take one proper day off every week and go easy in the mornings.

"She has a blood analysis done every few days - including one during last week's rehearsal in front of everyone."

July 21, 2008: "Rumors Circulating That Madonna Has A Sex Video"

Madonna is reportedly at the centre of a sex tape scandal. A cameraman claims to have a video of Madonna and baseball player Alex Rodriguez romping on a sofa.

He is trying to sell the tape for $2 million.

The unnamed owner of the tape claims he visited the property and hid a camera, pointed at the sofa which captured the X-rated footage two months ago.

A legal source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that the implications of the secret filming could be dire for the cameraman, saying: "If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy. But more than that he would not have had his friend's consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it.

"He would be guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he'd be going to jail for a few years."

Madonna, 49, has vehemently denied rumors she has been having an affair with baseball player Alex and has repeatedly denied reports of a rift in her marriage to Guy Ritchie.

Madonna's lawyers are "aware" of the sex tape claims, but have refused to comment further.

July 16, 2008: "Madonna Has Had A Facelift, Says Her Brother Christopher Ciccone"

Christopher, who has written a book entitled "Life With My Sister Madonna" alleges the singer went under the knife in a bid to maintain her youthful appearance.

When asked if he still recognized Madonna from the girl he grew up with, Christopher replied: "Not after the facelift."

He added to US TV show "Good Morning America": "I do recognize her in some ways, but I think ultimately she is a lonely person. It is truly lonely at the top."

Christopher recalled the moment his relationship with Madonna - who is married to director Guy Ritchie - started to deteriorate, during the filming of her 1991 documentary, "Truth Or Dare."

He said: "When she was rolling around on my mother's grave in "Truth or Dare" that was a turning point for me. I kept it inside but I thought, 'OK, there are no boundaries here. My mother has now become a bit player in her life story', That hurt me, my relationship with her changed."

Christopher says despite his revelations about the singer, he is hopeful they will mend their relationship in the future, so he can get to know his extended family.

He said: "I think she will speak to me again, I hope so, but I don't want to talk to her unless we are talking to each other as equals. And if that means she stays together with her husband and we don't have a relationship, then as long as she is happy that's cool with me."

"What I'm suggesting is that Guy's attitude towards me has to change, number one, and her attitude towards me needs to change, number two. If those things occur, I would like to get to know my niece and nephew better and I would like to meet their adopted son David."

"I love my sister, more than love her. I love her, but it will take some time for us to find our way back to a good place and I hope it does."

July 17, 2008: " Madonna Wants Justin and Britney Together"

We already know that Madonna has convinced Britney Spears to film a sexy cameo for her Sticky & Sweet tour. Now, Madge wants Britney to perform on stage with none other than Justin Timberlake.

Madonnas ultimate dream is to have Justin and Britney appearing on the same stage at her final show in Miami in November.

The Sun reports: Madonna is always trying to raise the bar and Britney and Timberlake on the same stage would be perfect. They have both been asked but I think both are a bit reluctant. Britney would find it all a bit emotional and JT might not fancy it.

July 16, 2008: "Madonna's Brother Claims Her Ex-Husband Sean Penn Was "Love Of Her Life""

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone claims her ex-husband Sean Penn was "the love of her life."

The 'Material Girl' singer says she has never truly got over her split from Sean.

He said: "Sean was definitely the love of her life."

Christopher also revealed he and Sean bonded in a unique way.

He added to US TV show "Extra": "He cut my thumb open - he cut his open - we pressed them together and he was like, 'OK, cool - now we're blood brothers!' "

July 15, 2008: "Madonna's Brother Doesn't Think The Singer Is Having An Affair"

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone insists the singer is still "a Catholic girl" and would never have an affair.

The 47-year-old author is certain Madonna is not responsible for the breakdown of baseball player Alex Rodriguez's marriage, branding the rumors "absurd."

He told US TV show 'Good Morning America': "I think it's highly unlikely. I know Alex from Miami. I doubt this is actually an affair. I'm sure she had nothing to do with the break-up of their marriage. It seemed absurd to me, truly, I don't believe it. Despite everything else, she's still a Catholic girl."

However, Christopher admits Madonna and Guy are having problems in their marriage, but have turned to Kabbalah, a mystical offshoot of Judaism, to help them through this difficult time.

He revealed in his book: "A Kabbalah rabbi would regularly come down from London to meditate between them. This does not surprise me. I believe Kabbalah is keeping them together."

Despite reports Madonna has already hired a divorce lawyer, Christopher insists it is unlikely the 49-year-old singer will follow through with the threat.

He added to 'Good Morning America': "I believe she'll do what's best for the family and her kids and I think she'll do her best to maintain the marriage and keep it going. She's not the kind of person to walk away."

Christopher also claims Guy is directly responsible for the breakdown of his relationship with Madonna, insisting: "Guy Ritchie pretty much happened to our relationship. The best way to get to my sister was to get into bed with her - the last person to speak to her at night has a lot of influence. We both couldn't exist in the same hemisphere."

The artistic director also revealed that before his estrangement from his sister, Guy discriminated against him because of his sexuality.

He said on the morning talk show: "When it comes to selecting the wood for his closet, I show him 12 samples and he tells me that they all look 'twee', using the word over and over."

"I get the message - I am gay and he doesn't want the house to reflect my sexuality, which is hardly likely."

Christopher hinted Guy's inability to accept him may have caused problems in his and Madonna's marriage.

He wrote: "It has always been of paramount importance to Madonna that the man in her life should be able to deal with the gay men in her life."

July 14, 2008: "New Details About Madonna Revealed In Christopher Ciccone's Book"

Guy Ritchie drove a car at his wife Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone, it has been claimed.

Christopher alleges the British film director once tried to intimidate him by driving dangerously close to him.

In his new book, 'Life With My Sister Madonna', Christopher recalled the incident, saying: "Guy Ritchie turns up in Madonna's black Mercedes and drives at me. When he is about a foot from me, he veers the car away, just missing my foot. I neither flinch nor move from my position."

"He stops the car, rolls down the window and says, 'Are you trying to prove a point?'"

"I say, 'No, but I think you must be.'"

Christopher also hints at his brother-in-law's "homophobia."

He revealed: "Guy's pride in his own heterosexuality swells noticeably when he is in the presence of a gay man like me."

Despite the animosity between Guy and Christopher, the author insists he wants his sister's marriage to last. He writes: "No matter how much I dislike Guy, he is her husband and I want her to be happy with him, even though their life together is sometimes difficult."

The autobiography also reveals details about Christopher's relationship with his sister, her romances with both men and women and the extent of her controlling ways.

He added: "The Madonna I once knew is lost to me for ever, I am sorry for her and us."

'Life With My Sister Madonna' goes on sale today.

July 9, 2008: "Madonna Furious About Rumors Over Her Relationship With Alex Rodriguez"

Madonna is furious over claims her alleged relationship with a baseball star has been labeled an "affair of the heart." The 49-year-old singer is reportedly livid over claims made by a lawyer for the wife of Alex Rodriguez, 32, that they are engaged in a non-sexual relationship.

A source involved with the divorce told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna is outraged. She told his wife Cynthia's lawyers not to make any more statements about her - in short, shut up."

Cynthia's legal team served her sportsman spouse with divorce papers earlier this week. Despite not being named in the documents, Cynthia's lawyers are still attributing some of the blame for the break-up to Madonna.

One of Cynthia's legal representatives, Earle Lilly, said of Madonna and Alex: "The correct analysis is a relationship. Some people categorize an affair as sexual infidelity. We're not claiming that - it's an affair of the heart."

Lilly also released a statement yesterday saying: "Cynthia has tolerated a lot of misconduct, but this one was the final straw. Having Madonna sit in his box at baseball games, and the Kabbalah meetings that have taken place. it's like an open forum. It's just short of embarrassing if nothing else."

July 8, 2008: "Is Madonna And Guy Ritchie's Divorce Just A Publicity Stunt?"

Is the buzz on Madonna and Guy Ritchie's marriage just a hype to help her world tour? At least that's what one celebrity website thinks so after quoting their sources.

TMZ claims that the pop superstar and her director husband are just using the media to their advantage, and the divorce drama is just part of their scheme to help Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet" world tour earn big bucks.

Quoting different sources, the website says the couple plan to officially separate later this year, after the tour as the concerts are expected to reach $300 million.

Also, the fuss surrounding the status of their relationship has been planned out for months. Madonna is expected to appear in public often until her tour to "generate a lot of publicity," and then the news of their marriage's rocky path will slowly leak out. This will help the Material Girl to be on the cover of tabloids and magazines around the world.

As it happens, the marriage was really over even before the whole splitville murmur began. But as Madonna and the "Revolver" director are friends, they decide to milk out more cash from the tour by generating the buzz.

TMZ quotes their source as saying, "She is simply playing the media - and the public - as usual."

July 7, 2008: "Britney Spears To Join Madonna On Tour"

Britney Spears is set to join Madonna on her tour, reports say.

The Queen of Pop is reportedly asked her one time stage lip-locking partner to join her on tour, which will kick off on August 23. They are also scheduled to record a video together, as part of Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet" tour.

The Sun newspaper quotes a source close to the younger singer as saying, "They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna's show."

"And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too. There's no doubt that her and Britney together will spell fireworks again."

July 7, 2008: "Madonna Says Rumors Of Her Affair With A-Rod Are "Fiction""

Madonna has branded reports she is having an affair with a baseball star as "fiction."

The '4 Minutes' singer insists she has had nothing to do with the sportsman's break-up from his wife Cynthia, and is not getting divorced herself.

She said in a statement: "My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study."

"I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the internet."

July 3, 2008: "Madonna Refuses To Allow Guy Ritchie To Move To New York"

Madonna has reportedly refused to let husband Guy Ritchie move to New York, she is said to have turned down the British director's plea to leave their London home and be with her in the U.S., saying she still wants to end the marriage.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Madonna allegedly said: "You're not coming. I still want a divorce. Stay in London."

However, Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg has strongly denied the rumor. She said: "This conversation never took place between Madonna and Guy. There's no break-up or divorce plan and they live together when work allows them to."

A source claims Guy's proposal was a last chance attempt to save his marriage. It is believed he will now remain at the couple's London home or 1,200-acre Wiltshire estate.

The pop superstar has allegedly bought another apartment in New York in her maiden name and is renovating it to accommodate children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and adopted son David, two.

The source said: "Guy did a lot of soul-searching after Madonna asked him for a divorce and thought he may be able to salvage the situation by agreeing to leave London full-time for the Big Apple."

"He knew it was a long shot but he will do anything to keep the family together. Yet no sooner had he told her than she said it wasn't an option any more."

"It's all very sad but Guy is now resigned to them living apart."

She was the only girl he ever was interested in. He said the two would stay at least for a couple of hours in the room, which cost $900 per hour. The slugger stopped visiting the jiggle joint around the same time Page Six reported his fondness for Monique in 2004.

July 2, 2008: "Madonna's Rep Denies Divorce And Affair Reports"

Music icon Madonna's rep has once again denied divorce rumors that surrounds her client and her husband Guy Ritchie's marriage.

In an exclusive statement to People magazine, spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg refutes the reports saying Madonna is divorcing her "Snatch" director husband and that she already has someone else in her life.

She says, "Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."

The rep also explains the "Hard Candy" star's true relationship with New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez. Reports suggest that the Madonna is seeing the baseball star while she is seeing top divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton to work on her split with Ritchie.

Rosenberg explains, "Madonna and Alex have the same manager. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."

July 1, 2008: "Divorce Whispers Grow Louder For Madonna And Guy Richie"

Madonna and Guy Ritchie's accountants have reportedly been asked to organize the couple's assets ahead of their rumored divorce.

The couple - who are not believed to have a pre-nuptial agreement - are said to have asked celebrity accountancy firm MGR to put their affairs in order.

A source close to the couple revealed to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "MGR will have to prepare documents on what they own separately and what they share together so the lawyers can work out what kind of settlement they will be awarded."

"They have huge assets, including a $14 million house in London and a property in the country. Madonna seems to be sticking to her guns and will want this done as swiftly as possible."

July 1, 2008: "Alex Rodriguez Making Late-Night Visits to Madonnas Apartment"

Us Weekly reports in its new issue, on newsstands tomorrow, that Madonnas seven-year marriage to Guy Ritchie has stalled out and the singer has been hosting late-night visits from New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez at her Central Park West apartment in New York City.

A ringless and grim-faced Ritchie, 39, arrived in New York City from London yesterday after several weeks apart from his family. A source tells Us that the $28-million-a-year Rodriguez, 32, has made numerous solo nighttime visits to Madonna, 49, at her spacious home and would sneak out as late as midnight. Says the source, All the doormen are talking.

Rodriguez attended Madonnas April 30 NYC concert; the singer sat in his seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was the first time she ever was photographed at a Yankees game). Her son Rocco, 7, also sported Yankees gear on June 25 while playing in Central Park.

Rodriguez, married with two young daughters, has already faced speculation about cheating: In 2007, he and a stripper were reportedly spied in Toronto, Miami and Dallas.

Complicating matters: Former Yankee slugger Jose Canseco who once dated Madonna wrote in his book Vindicted that he hates [A-Rods] guts because he once hit on his wife.

Madonna has been in NYC since the venerable Times of London confirmed that she consulted the same high-profile divorce attorney who worked with Paul McCartney and Prince Charles. Meanwhile, Us confirms Ritchie has also sought legal advice from Forsters law firm in London.

Check out the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, for exclusive details about Madonnas surprising friendship with A-Rod, how she fell in and out of love with Ritchie, what divorce would mean for her $600 million estate, and why a reconciliation isnt out of the question.

June 30, 2008: "Madonna's Brother Making Reality TV Show?"

MADONNAs brother is set to further embarrass the pop star - hes reportedly planning a reality TV show based on his life as her sibling.

It was announced earlier this month that Christopher Ciccone is writing a tell-all memoir about the superstar, to be published without her permission, with infamous celebrity biographer Wendy Leigh.

And now Ciccone, 47, is allegedly shopping around a show that will focus on the fact hes her brother.

A source tells New York gossip column Page Six, He hasnt gotten a deal yet, but hes been pitching it around.

June 27, 2008: "Madonna Meets With Divorce Lawyer"

Madonna has met with high-powered British divorce attorney Fiona Shackleton, The Times of London reports.

(Shackleton represented Paul McCartney in his split from Heather Mills. He ended up paying Mills only $48.6 million of the $160 million sought by Mills.)

One lawyer told The Times that Madonna, 49, had met with Shackleton after approaching another firm. (Guy Ritchie, 39, had been rumored to have had dealings with a lesser-known Mayfair law firm, Forsters, according to The Times.)

When contacted by Usmagazine, her rep said: No comment at this time, darling.

It is believed that the couple (who wed in 2000) did not have a prenup, according to The Times. (Madonna is worth an estimated $600 million.)

June 26, 2008: "Madonna And Guy Vacation In Italy But Sleep In Separate Rooms"

Madonna and Guy Ritchie enjoyed a three-day break in Italy - but slept in separate rooms.

The couple left their children, Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven and two-year-old David with a nanny while they visited Milan at the end of last week.

However, the pair reportedly slept in separate rooms and are said to have spent very little time together.

A source close to the couple told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They had completely separate rooms, schedules, everything. It was all very well organized but it's not a marriage the way most people understand it."

"They have this attitude like, 'We're not really a couple but we're friends and we love each other and raise our kids.' But the truth is they annoy each other, don't agree on anything, don't see each other or live 'together' as they did."

Madonna, 49, used the trip to visit fashion designers to source costumes for her forthcoming world tour, while Guy, 39, was working on a new commercial with actor George Clooney.

It was reported yesterday that Madonna had hired Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who represented Sir Paul McCartney in his split from Heather Mills, to handle her and Guy's alleged divorce.

A spokesperson for the singer has refused to comment on the claims.

June 25, 2008: "Madonna Reportedly Hires Paul McCartney's Divorce Lawyer"

Madonna has reportedly hired the divorce lawyer who represented Sir Paul McCartney.

Madonna was said to be impressed by Fiona Shackleton's handling of the former Beatle's bitter battle with ex-wife Heather Mills and wants her to represent her case against Guy Ritchie.

A friend of the singer insists Fiona is the natural choice for Madonna, telling Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Madonna always seeks out the best in whatever field she is interested in at any given time. Fiona Shackleton is the best."

Madonna had been hoping to resolve their difference but has reportedly realized their relationship is irreparable, she needed a proper legal consultation.

One friend of the lawyer - who also represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana - said: "Madonna was impressed by Fiona's work for Sir Paul and the way she handles herself in the public eye. She is a consummate professional."

June 24, 2008: "Madonna Planning Split From Husband After World Tour"

Madonna will split from husband Guy Ritchie at the end of her forthcoming world tour, it has been claimed.

Madonna have reportedly decided to end their seven-year marriage but will not make an announcement until her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour finishes in Mexico on November 29.

A source close to the couple told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Although the marriage is coming to an end, they don't want to say anything until the tour is over."

"They live like brother and sister rather than husband and wife and thought it best to call it a day. There's been speculation about them having furious fights, but they have just grown apart. They've decided they're better off as friends. It's sad, but they're determined to keep it amicable."

Madonna, 49, is said to be planning to split her time between her properties in London, New York and Los Angeles after the separation. Her New York apartment is being extended and renovated to accommodate her children and staff.

June 13, 2008: "Madonna's Brother To Write Tell-All Book About Sister"

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone is to release a tell-all memoir about the star.

The TV chef will release Life With My Sister Madonna in mid-July.

Publisher Simon & Schuster said: "Ciccone's extraordinary memoir is based on his life and 47 years of growing up with and working with his sister - the most famous woman in the world."

However, Madonna is rumoured to be so upset about the possible revelations in the book that she has contacted lawyers in London to discuss her legal options.

A source told E! blogger Marc Malkin: "When she was meeting with lawyers and everyone was saying it was because she wanted to divorce Guy, she was really meeting with them to get the book killed."

Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg denied that any meetings have taken place.

May 26, 2008: "Madonnas Interview With ABC in Cannes"

Madonnas revealing and in-depth one on one interview with ABC News Cynthia McFadden in Cannes was aired on Nightline on Thursday.

Here are some of what Madonna said:

On Turning 50:
McFadden: Is it just a number? Most women will not say how much they weigh. My age doesnt bother me. My weight I would never tell. Do you care about it as a number?
Madonna: If I didnt feel good and wasnt doing what I wanted to do with my life maybe that would bother me. But I feel good about what Im doing. I feel like in a way its given me a feeling of accomplishment for living this long and to still be able to do what I want to do and feel as good as I do. Its a blessing.
McFadden: Do you have a birthday wish?
Madonna: No. I dont. Im not thinking about my birthday? Whys everyone rushing me over the finish line?
McFadden: Oh, because we have you here to torture.
Madonna: No, Im not thinking about my birthday. Im thinking about what Im going to eat for dinner tonight. Thats my future plan.

On her looks:
Madonna: I dont look at old pictures of myself.
McFadden: You dont? From the old days?
Madonna: I dont look at pictures of myself from last week. Once Ive approved of them, theyre gone.
McFadden: So you dont feel any competition with the Madonna of old?
Madonna: I like the way I look better now.
McFadden: What do you like better?
Madonna: My thighs arent as chubby. Im not kidding. Im being perfectly honest with you.
McFadden: You say in one of the lyrics on your new album, I feel beautiful when Im dancing.
Madonna: Yeah, I have been dancing a lot lately. Thats probably why I like my thighs better.
McFadden: But do you feel beautiful the rest of the time too or not? How do you see yourself?
Madonna: I see myself as practical and handsome and useful. I dont think of myself as a great beauty. But I think of myself as stylish.

On Working with Justin Timberlake and Pharell on her new album:
McFadden: You beat Elvis record. More songs in the top ten than any other
Madonna: Yeah! Thats the record to beat.
McFadden: You hear something like that, and what do you think?
Madonna: Then I go back to work.
Thats my reaction. Not that I am going to rest on my laurels, but now I really have to do even better. I think thats why I decided to do this record with Justin Timberlake, and Pharell. Because they have strong personalities. You could say theyre divas in their own right.
McFadden: Youre used to being the only diva on the premises.
Madonna: Well, like in the square footage.
McFadden: Well, in the recording studio?
Madonna: Yeah.
McFadden: Well what was it like to sit down and write with these guys who are divas of their own?
Madonna: Well, we all had our hiccups where we jockeyed for positions and we tried to get to know each other because song writing is a very intimate experience. I would say there were a few uncomfortable moments.
Madonna: But with Pharell, he actually made me cry. Ive never told anyone that before. There. Out with it. Headlines [gesturing].
McFadden: Why did he make you cry?
Madonna: I dont know. I think I was just having a bad day. You know when youre not fine. You know sometimes when you just burst into tears for no reason?
McFadden: In front of him?
Madonna: I did right there in front of him.

On Adoption and her son David, whom she spotted in the arms of a young girl at an orphanage:
McFadden: Is that when you fell in love?
Madonna: The first time that I saw him [David], she was carrying him. And that was the moment when it all rack focused for me. Oh my God, shes 8 and shes taking care of a six month old child and so first I was drawn to her. Where does she get her strength from? And then I was drawn to him and I started carrying him around for her. When I came back the next time, thats when he was ill and thats when I really knew that I had a connection to him.

On discovering Malawi:
Madonna: Well, I went to Malawi thinking I am going to save these people. Im gonna build orphan care centers and come to their rescue. And I am going to do what I should be doing, sharing my experience, sharing my wealth with people who dont. And I went there thinking well I dont and we dont. Because I dont have that joy, that appreciation. I do in moments but not on a regular basis. Ive never seen so much sort of tangible suffering, but Ive never experienced so much joy and openness.

May 25, 2008: "Madonnas Fight With Pharell Williams"

Madonna cried with rage after an angry studio bust-up with producer Pharrell Williams. The couple fought while collaborating on Madonnas new album Hard Candy, and the Material Girl was shocked Williams was brave enough to stand up to her. Madonna reveals, Pharrell made me cry. You know when you get angry with someone and youre spitting snot.I was in a sensitive mood in the studio and I didnt understand the rhythm he wanted me to sing in, and he was giving me a hard time.I was taken back by how he was talking to me. Rather than walk away, the pair decided to clear the air, and patch things up, and they are now firm friends. Madonna adds, We went upstairs and I said, You cant talk to me like that, and burst into tears. And he said, Oh my God, Madonna has a heart. We had it out and now I love him and we make great music together.

Authorities in Malawi are set to grant full adoption rights of an African boy to Madonna, a high court official indicated Friday, citing a leaked document.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the court in Lilongwe would hear a full review on May 15 of an 18-month interim custody order granted in 2006 for Madonna to adopt David Banda.

The court had also received recommendations from the ministry of women and child development to make the adoption permanent.

The document, referring to Madonna's filmmaker husband Guy Ritchie and herself, said: "Mr and Mrs Ritchie have shown a strong commitment in providing the infant with all essential needs like love, safe home environment, care, protection, material as well as emotional support."

April 20, 2008: "Madonna's Big Pay Day"

Madonna rocketed to fame and fortune on so-so singing talent because she knew how to push the envelope on pop culture. But overlooked is the fact that the Material Girl is a shrewd businesswoman. She reportedly is negotiating a deal to wrap up her world tour in oil-rich Dubai where money (our money from oil sales) is no object.

London tabs are reporting that she'll get $14 million, or roughly $170,000 per minute, for a 90 minute concert. Then shes putting on a private performance, her first ever, for an emir who will pay her close to $10 million. Madonna left her long time record label and signed a $120 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation last year. Leave it to Madonna to find a way to cash in on all that money Americans are paying at the pump for Arab oil. Actually, leave it to Live Nation.

April 7, 2008 : "Madonna is set to adopt a baby from India"

The 4 Minutes singer - who is in the final stages of formally adopting two-year-old Malawian son David Banda - is keen to open her home to a disadvantaged Indian tot after she fell in love with the country following her visit this year.

During the trip - on which Madonna was accompanied by husband Guy Ritchie, David and her two other children Lourdes, 11, and seven-year-old Rocco - the family spoke to Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, who has adopted an Indian baby.Sandip said: We spoke about how there are so many children in India who need homes.

Madonna - who has given up her attempt to adopt a little girl from Africa after growing frustrated with the process - and Guy initially clashed over the idea but they have now decided it will be good for the family.

A source told Britains The Sun newspaper: Madonna was very taken with Sandip. He told her there were orphans who would melt her heart. Guy was against the idea, but when she wants something, she gets it.

After the stress of adopting David, Guy thought Madonna was mad to want to go through it all again. But they talked and talked and decided adopting a baby from India would be easier.

March 31, 2008: "Madonna To Star In Casablanca Remake"

Madonna is reportedly considering starring in a remake of the Hollywood classic, Casablanca.
A source said, She is still determined to make it in the movies. She and her representatives have been touting around a project which is a remake of Casablanca. The reception has been lukewarm to say the least. No one can understand why she wants to redo what many people consider the greatest film of all time. Madonna is talking about taking the Ingrid Bergman role for herself, even though Bergman was in her 20s when she played Ilsa and Madonna is nearly 50 there is no script yet.
Madonnas spokeswoman refused to comment.

April 4, 2008: "Madonnas Adoption of David Nearly Final "

Madonna is thisclose to having her adoption of David Banda approved. The Malawian government is now urging its High Court to give the go-ahead, Reuters reports. A confidential document, dated March 25, and signed by Probation Officer S. Chisale at the Ministry of Women and Child Development, says that Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are providing a good home for Banda. In the best interest of the child, I do recommend the petitioners to your lordship for your consideration that they be granted an adoption order having proved that they are suitable parents and satisfied the conditions in the interim adoption order, says Chisale. After the singer began proceedings to adopt the child she first met in a Malawian orphanage in 2006, the 2-year-old boy subsequently left Africa to live with Madonna and her family in their London home. But the formalities of adopting him have proved complex and controversial. Critics have charged that the Malawi government is skirting its own laws banning non-residents from adopting children by giving Madonna preferential treatment. Malawian Information Minister Patricia Kaliati previously praised Madonnas efforts to rally support for orphans in the impoverished, AIDS-ravaged country and, in February 2008, said it would be wrong for the government to deny the pop stars adoption.

March 16, 2008: "Madonna And Guy Ritchie To Announce Split In 18 Months? Madonna And Children Moving To New York?"

Madonna and Guy Ritchies marriage is fizzling out, if the latest rumours are to be believed.
Apparently Madonna and Guy have decided to separate, but they are not announcing the decision for 18 months.

Guy Ritchie didnt attend Madonnas induction to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in America recently, which further added to the rumours of trouble in their marriage.

A source reportedly said, Madonna and Guy are over. Its all very amicable. Theyve just fallen out of love with each other. They just think its for the best as after some great years together theyve been going their separate ways. Madonnas been recording her new album Hard Candy, and Guy has been trying to focus on putting a decent film out, so they are heading down different paths. Guy has failed to show up at events which are important to Madge. He just hasnt taken as much interest as he has previously in what shes doing.

Apparently the pub they recently purchased was actually nothing to do with Madonna. It was Guy and his friends Guy Pelly and Piers Adams who splashed out for the Punchbowl in Mayfair, London.
A source said, Guy decided to make the move for the pub without her because he loves it and cant wait to put his sense of style into it.

Madonna is apparently planning to move yo New York with her children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and David, 2.
A source said, Theyll try to keep things under wraps for the moment, but Guy will remain living in London and Madonna is set for New York with the kids. Guy will get as much access as he wants because there hasnt been a massive falling-out. Theyre agreeing to part on the best of terms. She has finally made the decision to go to America and has instructed her staff to prepare for the move. Everything will go, except Guy.

Damien Rice and Patti LaBelle are expected to perform musical tributes to Leonard Cohen, and songwriters Gamble & Huff at the induction ceremony.

Madonna was originally hesitant about receiving her tribute, but later said of her induction, I heard about it and I kind of felt ambivalent, like, What is that, the place they put musical dinosaurs? I didnt really know what to think of it. But then lots of people explained to me that its an acknowledgement of singers and songwriters who have made a contribution in the world of music for 25 years, and so eventually I came around to the idea that it was flattering.
